Ph.D. Candidate in media sociology with a strong foundation in teaching journalism, coupled with extensive experience in news reporting, investigative reporting, storytelling, public relations, copy editing, and professional writing. As the de facto deputy head of the English news portal of Bangladesh’s largest daily, I learnt how to run a news website keeping pace with developing events and how to run a team of newsmen. My responsibility here included writing stories and opinion pieces, editing stories, choosing photos and links for the news stories, deciding news treatment for the site, assigning stories to team members and so on.

Wrote several hundred investigative and special stories primarily on politics, governance, elections, democratic practice, rule of law, rights issue, enforced disappearance, militancy and observed several parliamentary and local government elections. During the journalistic stint at the daily, I interviewed the country’s leading politicians, political analysts and intellectuals.
